Just a really short entry today as I have to drive Ric to the airport in the early hours of this morning. He is flying to England to join in with the preparations for the wedding of his daughter Laura. I will be joining him later and we have carefully engineered our travels so that we are only away from the ranch for one week at the same time. It has taken us close to a year to prepare for this trip, arranging farm sitters, timing breedings and restricting the visiting alpacas on the farm so that while we are gone the herd numbers are down to a minimum – phew!
To be able to get Ric to the airport in time we measured out all of the alpacas hay last night and will give them hay (very quickly I might add) before we set off in this morning. The pellets they will get when I return home.
Dear Clarissa of course has still not had her cria, so just in case she decides that today is the day Regina Dart of Llano Soleado Alpacas has kindly agreed to come out to check on Clarissa for me during the morning. Fingers crossed Clarissa will hold on until Monday now.
So fingers crossed our journeys will go well today. Then I only have about 10 days to prepare for my trip to England!
